The master is a particular recording. The composition is the underlying song. Different people can control each.

The details that matter
A PRO is a performing rights organization. An IPI/CAE identifies a writer or publisher. Writer splits describe authorship; an administration agreement describes what an administrator may collect and administer.
Writer share and publisher share
Writer and publisher portions are separate collection categories. Owning a master does not assign composition rights. Your agreements and society rules determine who collects each portion; legal writer names help match registrations correctly.

You can see intake, review, partner processing and evidence-backed registration status. Expressing interest does not enroll you or transfer rights.
